CommissioningTrained Missionaries shall be fully commissioned during the BWA Annual Gathering in Lagos.
CONSIDER THESE CRITERIA BEFORE APPLYING TO BE A MISSIONARY
THROUGH THE AFRICA BAPTIST MISSION BOARD (ABMB).
Proof of your calling and why you believe God is calling you to serve and how you have been prepared by the Holy Spirit a of your involvement in Mission.
This symbolizes the believer's identification with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection.
Confession of faith in Jesus Christ is a critical consideration. Prove that you are truly part of God’s family through everlasting rebirth in Christ Jesus.
We are looking for people who are keenly committed to personal life of holiness. This is very expedient for us because if selected, such an individual is going to represent Christ.
For the first cohort, an applicant is expected to be a young male and should be unmarried as of the time of application.
Applicants should have good knowledge of the Bible. Be ready to take part in an intensive Mission Bootcamp and this is going to demand full concentration.

LANGUAGE ADAPTATION: Applicants should be willing to learn new local languages. Also, good understanding of English and/ French is an added advantage.
HEALTH STATUS CHECK: A health check is very crucial to be able to ascertain that the applicant has the robust health to withstand the tense and sometime harsh environmental terrain. Therefore, it is imperative for applicants to submit themselves for thorough checks and provide the original report.
TENURE: The assignment is for only 12 months.
CHECKS:There could be a check with the Local Church and Convention of the selected applicants from the first Cohort.
AGE: An applicant is not expected to be above 40 years old.
CHARACTER:An applicant must have leadership qualities, be attractive to others in personality and character, or manifest potential in these areas. Priority is placed upon dependability, willingness to assume responsibility, a teachable spirit, a good reputation and moral purity. These qualities help demonstrate that an applicant is faithful, available and teachable.
MOTIVATION: This is a benevolence Call. Therefore, stipends shall be allocated to Sustain the selected Missionary while on Mission Field.
