...uniting African Baptist to fulfill the Great Commission

Let’s come together for the Day of Prayer for
African Baptist Children on June 14, 2026

Dear servants of the Lord,
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you. The All Africa Baptist Fellowship (AABF) continually gives thanks to God for your faithful commitment to missionary work, the building up of the Body of Christ, and the transmission of spiritual values to future generations across Africa.

On June 14, 2026, all Baptist children in Africa are called to commemorate the DAY OF PRAYER FOR AFRICAN BAPTIST CHILDREN. This continental day for Baptist children will pursue several major objectives, such as:
• Raising awareness among Baptists in Africa regarding the urgency of children’s ministry
• Encouraging families to invest spiritually in their children
• Giving children a voice in the mission of the Church
• Valuing children’s ministry leaders, educators, and staff
• Raising a generation of Baptist children who are united and committed to the Gospel
• Cultivate Baptist pride by promoting our heritage among children

Through this letter, we invite every National Independent Baptist Body—and indeed every local church—to embrace this vision and to organize, with seriousness, creativity, and spiritual fervor, activities tailored to their context in order to celebrate, train, and mobilize children around Christian and missionary values.

This year’s theme is RESPONSIBILITIES BEYOND JERUSALEM, taken from Acts 1:8.

Through this theme, we want every Baptist child in Africa to understand that being a Christian does not just mean going to church every Sunday but reflecting the Risen Christ in the way we speak, think, and act. To do this, we have a responsibility to be:
• Spiritually available like Samuel
• Firm and holy according to biblical principles like Daniel and his companions
• A light that shines beyond our comfort zone like Esther

We are therefore called to live a responsible faith that leads us to go beyond our personal interests and our usual comfort zones.

Suggestions for Activities to Commemorate African Baptist Children's Day
1. In Local Churches
This year, we especially want a child or teenager to present the Children's Department of the All Africa Baptist Fellowship (AABCM) to their church.
• Mission: To serve as a catalyst that trains, equips, inspires, and challenges children's ministries through appropriate programs and tools.
• Vision: To see children's ministry in the various National Independent Baptist Bodies become an effective instrument of discipleship for the glory of God.
Note: A joint offering is collected for All Africa Baptist Youth Fellowship (AABYF) and All Africa Baptist Children Ministry (AABCM) during the service and 20% remains to support the Children Ministry and the Youth Department of the National Baptist Body while 80% go to AABF for AABYF and AABCM

2. At the zonal or national level
On the afternoon of June 14, 2026, we encourage a gathering of children for a sharing session on the history of their Baptist Organization and AABF, according to the following program:
• Arrival and seating
• Opening prayer (one child)
• Group hymn
• Sharing of Bible verses (by the children)
• History of the Baptist Organization (one adult)
• 5-10 minute sermon by a child aged [12-14 years]
• History of AABF (one adult)
• Intercessory prayer offered by different children for (1. The National Organization, 2. AABCM and AABF, 3. Families, 4. The Country, 5. Other identified needs)
• Praise and offering
• Closing prayer by a child
• Blessing (one adult)

As we prepare for this special day, may every Baptist church, family, and ministry across Africa rise together in prayer and commitment for the spiritual growth of our children. Let us intentionally nurture a generation that will love Christ, uphold Baptist values, and boldly carry the Gospel beyond Jerusalem. May the Lord strengthen our efforts and bless every child across the continent for His glory. Please visit https://allafricabaptist.org/acdop.html to know more.
